the green builder
building with the future in mind
“To transform the way buildings and communities are
designed, built and operated, enabling an
environmentally and socially responsible, healthy,
and prosperous environment that improves the quality
of life.” To this end Jay Mahony and Gene Garrett have been awarded the “LEED® Accredited Professional” designation having successfully completed the LEED Professional Accreditation program. What is LEED? The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria. LEED is a third-party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED gives building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their buildings’ performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. >> more informationLEED Project Certification LEED certification provides independent, third-party verification that a building project meets the highest green building and performance measures. All certified projects receive a LEED plaque, which is the nationally recognized symbol demonstrating that a building is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live and work. There are both environmental and financial benefits to earning LEED certification.
